A Forbidden Love

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

A year after Nora's father was murder, she finally feel like her life is back to normal. That is till the day in Biology when her teacher decided to switch up the seating chart.  Her new partner? The mysterious Patch. Since that day her life hasn't been the same. He knows things about her that he shouldn't have any way of knowing. And then of course freaky things starts to happen and she feels like someone is stalking and after her. Is it a coincidence that Patch seems to be everywhere she turns? She doesn't trust him. Not to mention he makes her feel uncomfortable but she can't stop the feelings about him. When Vee pushes Nora to the new transfer guy Elliot, she thinks he could be the solution. That is until Nora unintentionally uncovers some unsettling facts about his life from his previous school. Not sure where she can turn can Nora trust anyone?

The first time I read the book I immediately fell in love with it. With the final book coming out I decided the series is worth a re read. Not sure what it is, don't get me wrong I still love the book but I had some different opinions about it the second time around. There were plenty of times when I just wanted to slap Nora, whom makes some of the dumbest decisions. But she is a 16 year old girl, so I suppose she can be forgiven. And then there's Patch. I usually don't go for the bad boy who's an ass. Not to mention he doesn't start off as the good guy. But I completely fell in love with Patch.

Thrown into the world of fallen angels, Nora accepts it amazingly well. But another problem I had with the plot is that essentially Nora had three different people out to kill her. A little bit too much. Nora realizes that she can't stay away from Patch.

None the less I still think the book is amazing and so is the series.

Rating: 4/5
